Challenge

  • Create a primary overview of the PHMP product, printed in bulk and distributed to companies and employees
  • Alternate between graphs, charts, and word-dense sections for improved readability

Approach

Due to the nature of the insurance administration business, this “highlights” document needed to contain a lot of information with limited edits. I worked with execs and decision-makers to simplify the text and bring it to the desirous eighth-grade reading level.

Key Decisions

  • Used the facing-pages format to distribute chunky paragraphs and maximize white space
  • Diverse imagery reflecting the rural, working class audience
  • Light blue palette complemented the snowy wintery cover image
