About Brennon!

“Marketing designer” is the most suitable description I know to describe my skills and capabilities.

My toolkit extends beyond graphic design and into writing, editing, management, and strategy.

Writing

My strong background in writing has given me an atavistic drive to refine content, craft it outright, and tweak tweak tweak until it’s clear and tailored to its intended audience. That means transforming long, jargon-heavy paragraphs into concise, consumer-friendly messaging.

Design

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, I craft engaging graphics and layouts for both print and web. I also streamline text-heavy PowerPoint presentations to enhance the presenter’s delivery, design emails that reach wide audiences, and refine Word documents with thoughtful font hierarchy and organization.

Strategy

Effective marketing design isn’t just about aesthetics — it’s about creating an emotional connection. Successful campaigns, and the designs behind them, require an open mind — plus analytics and psychology. These are the essential tools to creating the most impactful designs.

And since ambitious goals are rarely achieved alone, I’m always in collaboration mode — and I’ve always got a few novel ideas to share.

About this site!

The design of this website is inspired by old school video games — specifically my childhood favorite: Dragon Warrior for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It’s also a homage to monotype — a rigid font family with utilitarian beauty.

The main logo illustration was drawn by my late father, Kevin Slattery — the OG Slatts.

It’s a depiction of a younger me, hunched and squinting over a typewriter. He sketched it in blue ballpoint during a visit to Ireland, where I worked for six months in the medical records department at a rural hospital. Great memories, and my homage to my beloved Dad.
